Abstract:

This is an on-line map viewer for the display and query of data collected between September 22 and September 29, 2009, covering the floor of the Flathead Valley above Flathead Lake, the area around Polson, and the shoreline areas of Flathead Lake, Whitefish Lake, and Swan Lake.

Data from the project include natural color and color-infrared orthorectified aerial photos whose horizontal resolution is 1 foot, a digital elevation models whose resolution is 6 feet, and topographic contour lines whose interval is 2 feet. The vertical datum of the data is NAVD88, Geoid 03.

The map viewer should work in all standard web browsers. The attributes of features may be queried and layers may be turned on and off.

In addition to the 2009 Flathead data, the viewer also integrates current data from other services, including Public Land Survey sections and quarter-quarter sections, land ownership parcels from the Montana Cadastral Framework, roads from the Montana Transportation Framework, city limits from the Montana Government Units Framework, and geographic names.
